Biyskaya Roza (Бийская Роза)
It is a Russian non-commercial variety, that was given to Tatiana Kouchnareva by a Russian collector Tamara Yashenko of Biysk*, Siberia, Russia. First introduced in the Seed Savers 2009 Yearbook by Tatiana Kouchnareva of Anmore, Canada. Indeterminate, regular leaf plants, that produce large (10-18 oz.) pink beefsteak-type fruit with smooth shoulders. Very meaty, dense and firm flesh, perfect for fresh eating and for cooking. Delicious, sweet and rich tomato flavor. Midseason, about 75 days to maturity.
* Biysk is a Russian city which is widely considered to be ‘the gates to the Altai Mountains’.
