Dwarf Arctic Rose
One of the most popular varieties created as part of the Dwarf Tomato Project, developed by the creators of the project in 2006-2012, from a cross between Budai Torpe and Black from Tula varieties made in 2005 by Patrina Nuske Small from Australia. A variety named by Sherry Shiesl and Susan Bailey from Alaska, who worked together on its selection and stabilization. Final work and seed propagation (2012) made by Ted Maiden of LaFollette, Tennessee, USA. Introduced commercially by Casey’s Heirloom Tomatoes of Airdrie in 2012. Compact, dwarf type plants with regular rugose leaf foliage gives pink, round and oblate, 100-200g fruit with smooth shoulders. Very good tomato flavour, well balanced sweet and sour. +/- 75 days.
